General Sales Manager

Faribault, Minnesota

Harry Brown's is searching for an experienced General Sales Manager to lead and grow our automotive sales operation. 

This is a significant leadership position in a long-established, family-owned dealership. We are looking for an accomplished automotive retail leader who combines strong operational discipline with the ability to develop people, build culture, and drive results. 

This is not an office-only leadership role. Our GSM is expected to be engaged in the business every day - coaching managers and salespeople, desking deals, taking TOs, appraising vehicles, reviewing performance, solving problems, and setting the standard for the sales organization. 

What You'll Lead  

The General Sales Manager has broad responsibility for: 

• Chevrolet, GMC, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram new vehicle sales 
• Used vehicle sales and inventory performance 
• Finance & Insurance 
• Sales managers and sales team development 
• CRM, lead management and sales process execution 
• Inventory strategy, pricing and appraisals 
• Recruiting, training and accountability 
• Overall sales department profitability and growth 

You will work closely with executive leadership while having significant responsibility for how the sales organization operates and performs. 

What We're Looking For  

We are looking for a proven automotive sales leader , not someone learning the GSM role for the first time . 

The right candidate will have: 

• Significant automotive retail management experience 
• A proven record of leading successful sales teams and managers 
• Strong desking, closing and vehicle appraisal skills 
• Deep understanding of new, used and F&I performance 
• Strong command of inventory, pricing, CRM and sales KPIs 
• The ability to build processes and consistently hold people accountable to them 
• Experience coaching and developing both salespeople and sales managers 
• Strong financial and analytical instincts 
• The confidence to make decisions and take ownership of results 
• A leadership style that combines high standards with humility, professionalism and strong relationships
